Our jewellery is designed with everyday wear in mind. We carefully consider the materials and finishes used across Found & Forever so that our pieces can be worn regularly while maintaining the look and feel that made you choose them in the first place.
316L Stainless Steel
All Found & Forever jewellery is crafted using 316L stainless steel, a durable and corrosion-resistant material well suited to everyday jewellery.
Unlike softer base metals, stainless steel is hard-wearing and resistant to rust and corrosion. It also provides a strong foundation for our plated gold pieces, helping them retain their shape and finish through regular wear.
18K Gold PVD
Our gold jewellery is finished with 18K gold PVD plating over 316L stainless steel.
PVD, or Physical Vapour Deposition, is a process that bonds a thin layer of material to the surface of the stainless steel. It creates a durable finish designed to withstand everyday wear better than many traditional plating methods.
As with any plated jewellery, the finish can naturally change over time depending on how often a piece is worn and how it is cared for.
Water & Tarnish Resistance
Found & Forever jewellery is water-resistant and tarnish-resistant, making it suitable for the realities of everyday wear.
Occasional contact with water shouldn't mean immediately reaching to remove your jewellery. However, water-resistant doesn't mean completely unaffected by every environment. To help preserve the finish for as long as possible, we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to swimming pools, seawater and harsh chemicals.
Caring for Your Jewellery
Your jewellery doesn't need a complicated care routine. After wearing it, gently wipe the surface with a clean, soft cloth to remove any moisture, oils or product residue.
Allow jewellery to dry fully before storing it, particularly after it has been exposed to water. When you're not wearing your pieces, keep them somewhere clean and dry and ideally store them separately to minimise scratching or tangling.
Perfume, hairspray, lotions and cleaning products can affect jewellery finishes over time, so where possible, allow these products to dry before putting your jewellery on.
Each Found & Forever order includes a microfibre polishing cloth, which can be used to gently keep your jewellery looking its best.
A Note on Everyday Wear
Jewellery naturally experiences wear over time. How quickly this happens varies depending on the individual piece, how frequently it's worn and what it comes into contact with.
